ABOUT DAIJOBU POTTERY

Daijōbu Pottery - 大丈夫焼
was born out of my passion for Japan, craftsmanship, and Japanese art.

Pottery from the Heian period* is among the works that sparked my interest in ceramics.
A trip to Tokoname* ultimately encouraged me to take the leap.

Many of my creations are inspired by Japanese ceramics, particularly through the kurinuki* and tamazukuri* techniques.Each piece is handmade, unique, and original.

Daijōbu (大丈夫) means "It's okay".

"Acquiring a Daijōbu pottery piece means owning much more than just an object… This name carries a deep emotional and symbolic meaning.

Daijōbu pottery evokes a sense of well-being and serenity. It also reminds us that beauty can be found in imperfection, closely echoing the philosophy of wabi-sabi.


*Heian: a period spanning from 794 to 1185.
*Tokoname: a city with a pottery history dating back over 1,000 years, known as one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns.
*Kurinuki: a technique that involves carving or hollowing out a solid block of clay.
*Tamazukuri: a hand-building technique where the clay block is shaped by pinching.
